- WHAT ABOUT INFECTIONS IN CLINICS AND HOSPITALS?
Our medical partners are one of the most advanced healthcare facilities in the fight against nosocomial (i.e. hospital acquired) infections. It is a highly sophisticated institution attuned to minimizing the risk of infections.
Under French law, clinics and hospitals have to collect data for a yearly evaluation. For example:

- HOW DO THE INTERNATIONAL PATIENTS COMMUNICATE WITH DOCTORS AND MEDICAL STAFF ?
English is widely spoken by most of the doctors within our network. We can also provide French – English interpretation.
- CAN MY MEDICAL COSTS BE COVERED?
We recommend that you contact your insurance company to know whether your policy can cover the cost of an intervention of a treatment abroad. After your treatment stay, you will be given an invoice. When you return home, this invoice must be sent to your insurance company to obtain reimbursement for the health care.
- CAN I PAY IN SEVERAL INSTALMENTS?
To make your trip easier, Martinique Medical Care allows payment in 3 instalments at no additional charge.
- WHAT HAPPENS IF I DECIDE TO CANCEL MY PROCEDURE?
You have the right to change your mind and to decide to cancel or postpone your trip. In this case, you have up to 15 days in relation to your arrival date, to modify or cancel without charge. After this 15-day period, 100% of the paid amounts will be retained due to late cancellation.

- WHAT IS THE LEGAL RECOURSE TO TAKE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS DURING MY MEDICAL TREATMENT?
If, due to medical reasons, you have to extend your stay, or if there is a complication requiring a new surgical procedure, Martinique Medical Care will communicate the new cost estimate to obtain your approval.
By law all French doctors and clinics have to publicly list the details of their insurance . If something happen during surgery, patients should make note of the insurance contact details of the medical professional or institution. Any post-surgery litigation should be established with the hospital and its insurance company.

- WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO TRAVEL AFTER MY PROCEDURE?
Every procedure is different and recovery time, will be dictated by the type of procedure chosen. With certain elective treatments, you may be able to fly the same day, while other procedures may require considerable respite. We work closely with your attending physician to plan the appropriate care and length of stay.
