Martinique is a French island located in the arc of the Lesser Antilles, in the Caribbean Sea between Dominica to the north and Saint Lucia to the south. The main music of Martinique are biguine, the Creole mazurka or mazouk, the Creole waltz, the quadrille or high-waist, the chouval-bwa, the bô-kannal drum, the bèlè, the kadans and the zouk.
